The Unofficial Dyno2000 file page FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
- 1. Q: How did this site come to be?
A: Several of my friends and I were e-mailing .cam and .flw files back and forth,
keeping one another updated on our latest creations. This was a logical outgrowth of that practice.
- 2. Q: Where did you get the files?
A: I created some of them, several friends created others, and the remainder have been contributed.
- 3. Q: I have created some files and I'd like to contribute them. How can I do this?
A: Give each file a descriptive name, such as "SBC_Crane_262.cam" and e-mail them to me at rbuck@aros.net
- 4. Q: I get an error message that says, "The cam file you have selected was not created by this version of the Dyno2000 program (Version X.XX)
A: These files have been created under a variety of versions of Dyno2000. It's too large of a task for me to update each one to the most current version. You have a couple of options:
-
a: Upgrade your version of Dyno2000 to the latest version. It is backward compatible with most previous versions of cam and flw files.
-
b: Open the file in a text editor (Notepad, WordPad, Winedit [my favorite]) and change the version info to match the version of the program you're using.
This USUALLY works, but is not a guaranteed method.
- 5. Q: Where can I find files for [insert your favorite cam, head or motor in here]?
A: If they're not here, You can buy Motion Software's CamDisk2 or you can create them yourself using Dyno2000's Cam Math or Airflow Math routines.
- 6. Q: Where can I find a site like this for Drag2000 files?
A: At this time (late 2000) there is none. I don't even own Drag2000. If you'd like to start one, please let me know and I'll be happy to link to it.
- 7. Q: Can I import Drag2000 files into Dyno2000?
No. They are in different formats, and as far as I know no one has written a conversion utility.
- 8. Can you send me all your files so that I don't have to take the time to download them myself?
A: Sure. All you have to do is come here and do my work for me.
- 9. Why are you such a prick?
A: Because I tried to do people a favor by creating this site and some people abuse my generally good nature by asking me to do the things they could do for themselves.
