This critter is called a "doodle bug." I wasn't familiar with the name or the concept...but Rudy told me that after WWII, farm tractors were real hard to come by. So folks would remove all the bodywork behind the cowl of a Model A, shorten the frame and generally use a truck rear end...then it was out plowing fields or doing other tractor duty.
