Riverton, Utah. June 27, 2002

One of the local cruise nights. There were about 140 cars on hand.

This is in a somewhat rural setting, so we had some unusual spectators:

Gayle is finding out that horses don't really care for limes.

Here's a cute little 23 Ford T-Bucket with suicide front end, dual quads on a tunnel ram and a plush interior.

And a 27 Ford highboy roadster...full fenders, top, V6 power and wire wheels...

...and an interesting front plate.

A nicely chopped 35 Ford pickup with suicide doors.

This 36 Chevy sedan is still in the primer stage (like too many of my cars.)

This is an unusual but very striking 39 Studebaker coupe. It's still in progress, but I liked it.

Here's a flamed 1940 Ford pickup with an interesting chin spoiler.

This 46 Plymouth coupe had a Chevy 3.4 liter V6 and the stock 3-speed trans. I never did find out how he mated them up.

Here's a neat little shoebox. A 54 Ford 2-dr sedan with a straight 6 and 3-speed on the column. Nothing fancy, just cool.

This 56 Ford pickup has a flip-up front end.

A very sharp 56 Thunderbird.

When I first looked at this 57 Chevy convert, I didn't pay it a lot of attention...

...then I noticed that it didn't look exactly right...

...until I counted the doors. It was originally a 4-dr hardtop. Now it's lost its lid. Not a bad job of creating a convert.

Here's a 57 Chevy 2-dr post that's a little more conventional.

This 58 Corvette has dual 4-barrel carbs and is VERY clean.

A 58 T-Bird mild custom with scallops and 54 Buick portholes. Different. Very different.

Here's a totally stock 60 Ford Galaxy 2-dr hardtop.

This 61 Mark I Austin-Healy Sprite (or Bugeye) reminds me of the one I used to race.

I'm not sure about the salmon color on this 63 Corvair, but it's decorative.

Here's my 63 Nova Coyote at its first cruise nite. It was so hot (107F) that the darned thing almost didn't make it. But I found out that the timing had slipped and was causing it to run like shit and overheat.

And another 63 Nova. This one's an SS with a tunnel ram dual quad setup going thru the hood.

This 65 El Camino had a sign on it that said, "stock" but I don't think that roll bar and those big fat rear tires came from the factory.

Here's a 66 Chevelle wagon that had been converted from a 4-dr to a 2-dr. The owner calls it a "Ho-Mad"...

...and it has one of those blower things under the hood, too.

This is a very nice 68 Dodge R/T convert.

And a 68 Roadrunner that's popped its hood.

This 69 Pontiac Tempest is VERY green.

Here's a great 70 El Camino SS with 3rd generation Camaro wheels.

This Cobra replica has a Ford 460 that's been punched out to well over 500 cubic inches (I forget the exact displacement)...

...and seems to need spare parts. Or is threatening to.
