MAY 1982 (pre-Cort ownership)
* purchased by the original owner (my parents!)
MAY 1982 - JUL 1989 (pre-Cort ownership)
* "family trip car": has seen most of the United States!
APR 1992 (pre-Cort ownership)
* I sideswiped a "protruding" telephone poll at the end of my
grandparents' driveway, placing a good-sized dent in the front,
passenger's side fender
SUMMER 1998 (pre-Cort ownership)
* new headliner installed
* I removed the Malibu hubcaps & installed the "old/original" hubcaps from my 1979 MC
NOV 1999 (begin Cort ownership...sort of)
* "retired" from daily use, after having been driven by my sister for the
last few years; taken to friend's house near Champaign (IL) for 1st
winter storage (in a former blacksmith shop)
DEC 1999 (begin Cort ownership...officially)
* purchased from Dad with ~180K miles on the original V6 engine
MAR 2000
* Chevrolet "bow tie" tire air caps installed
JUN 2000
* 1st appearance at NMCOA "MC Nationals" (Indianapolis IN)
SPRING 2003
* 2 "MC" script (silver lettering) mudflaps installed (back tires)
FUTURE PLANS
* new paint (original tan color, if possible)
* new front fender
* new engine
* new misc. parts to replace old/missing ones
* general restoration
TIDBITS
* was a "left over" 1981 MC when my Dad purchased it
* almost did not become part of our family due to "dealer error"
* Dad did not want the original rally wheels...so dealership swapped
wheels & tires with a 1982 Chevrolet Malibu
* as of MAY 2002, original V6 engine is still running, with 187K miles,
though the "professional" mechanics have no idea why or how!
