When they got ready to shoot additional takes, the motor wouldn't fire, so they just had the push truck run him up to the line and let it coast, while the truck pulled off the course. I talked to him the next day and asked what had happened. He sais, "I dunno. I just heard 'clunk clunk' and then it woudn't run." That doesn't sound very good. He didn't make it to World Finals, but he already owns the class record for XXF/GS (Overhead-valve converted flathead gas streamliner.)
