This was not pretty nor pleasing to the ear. I watched the crewman on the Christeson - Rice - Stuck B/Fuel Roadster going thru the startup procedure: "Power on. Magneto on. Fuel Pump on. Open throttle." Then he gave it a squirt of fuel into the injector intake. He called, "Hit it!" And KABOOM! It sounded like a cannon shot. After I shook my head to stop my ears from ringing, I saw all the coolant coming out of the side of the engine and pouring all over motor chunks lying on the ground. Not the way you'd like to finish your World Finals visit, especially while trying to back up a record.
