This is the Buckeye Bullet, an electric-powered car built and fielded by the Ohio State University school of engineering. I saw them run last year, and although they set a record, they had some problems. This year, however, they ran like clockwork and set a record of almost 315 mph on battery power! The whole center of the car is taken up with over 900 batteries.
