The Saline Solution launches. It has a Whipple-supercharged GMC straight-6 motor running on gasoline. I was really happy to see these guys the the 200+ run.
These pics were taken during what's called "Record Returns" on Friday morning. That's when the cars that have qualified for a record run a second time to back it up after spending the night in Impound...with 4 hours to work on them in preparation for the return run. After I took these pics (and the next couple) the officials shoo'ed us all out of the area so that the cars who were shooting for international records could make two-way runs. (The SCTA/BNI runs are all in the same direction.) It gets confusing. The cars waiting in the background are in the staging area waiting for record returns to finish so that they could make qualifying passes.
