First of all: why Day 2? Because Day 1 of World finals was spent on the movie set.
When I was able to get to the WF pits, I found that my favorite spot was available. It's right in between the pits, the impound area and the fuel truck (not to mention the Porta-A-Johns and the refreshment stand.) From there it's easy to see cars being towed up for fueling, on their way to the starting line and the cars on the course at the 3 mile mark.
