This is the way the El Camino looked on Route 66 in Riverton, Kansas.
I took this picture on the way back from the annual Nova List Gathering in Joplin, Missouri on 07/13/03.

I almost made it. It was so close. But a bout with viral pneumonia put me in the hospital for a week and
took up the last of the good weather. So the Monte's in the driveway until spring (I gotta get a cover on it) and the Model A is in the garage.

The Burrrrb
03/29/08: It's been a long time since I had an RBD attack. Got hit with one over the last week. This is the result: a 95 2wd Suburban with 350 motor,
way too many seats (I took one of 'em out immediately) and way too many doors. But the price was right and I needed a more reliable form of transportation. So I ended up with this.
My plan was to keep it completely stock. But if I do I'll lose my charter membership in the "Can't Leave Nuttin Stock Club" So I dunno. Oh....Satan...get thee behind me!
I can already see it slammed down in the weeds with moon discs or red reversed rims, airbag suspension and painted satin black! Yet another project.
Just what I need. :) I ordered plates for it on 03/28/08 and they'll say "BURRRRB." I'm afraid that's gonna be its name. It was suggested that when asked about the meaning, I tell 'em, "that's my contribution
in the fight against global warming." I don't know. It seemed funny at the time. More to come.

I've been very tempted to put a picture of my ex-wife here. So far, I've resisted. |
