Rebuilding the front end [1]

The control arms are removed and on the way to the shop to be pressed in.
Turns out that they were the wrong ones and it took several calls and shipments to and from PST to get all the right parts.

Passenger side corner after taking the suspension parts off.

There was a lot of grease and grime to scrape off.

The driver's side control arms are still on to provide a reference for re-assembly.

The firewall doesn't look TOO bad, but it still shows about 25 years of wear.

Looks kinda bare, doesn't it?

After painting with POR-15 and partial reassembly.

The disk brakes are still on, but they should be replaced soon.

You can see the Gabriel shocks inside the new PST springs.

It's still bare, but it looks a lot better with a clean coat of paint.

Almost like brand new...sorta.

The driver's side suspension has been removed, now that the other side is back together.

You can see the master cylinder that's waiting to be replaced with a power cylinder for the front disks.

A new heater core was installed while things were apart.

And besides...the inlet tube to the core was snapped off, but it's easier to do it now.

Driver's side upper control arm after painting with POR-15.

More parts that got in the way of the paintbrush.

This wiring harness was completely covered in grease and grime. It cleaned up very nicely.
