Removing the 350 from the Organ Donor



Well, it's in the garage...now where to start?



We better get the hood off first.



It looks like this motor was last cleaned in 1979...when it rolled off the assembly line.
The dirt was caked on the motor about 1/2 inch thick and both the oil and ATF looked like crude oil from the La Brea Tar Pits.



Well, after about 4 hours, it was on its way out. Some rocket scientist at GM decided that the tranny should be bolted to the catalytic converter.
What a pain! And the exhaust bolts were...shall we say "just a teeny bit rusted?"


See? There seems to be a motor under there! I knew it all along!

Here's the organ donor on the way to the big car lot in the sky. Steve actually got $75 for it at the recycler's
