This is the Aerocoupe
Here's The Coupe parked in front of our house...August 2003.
I happened to be driving along one of the main streets in Salt Lake City and saw this poor neglected thing sitting in front of a pawn shop.
I couldn't help it. I just stopped to check it out.
It seems that a guy pawned it 4 years earlier and all of a sudden stopped paying on it. They wanted $3500, but I talked them into selling it to me for $2000.
The nose has been crunched but the sheet metal seems to be just fine.
Someone had put these cheap (and ugly) horse blanket seat covers on the buckets.
Here it is sitting at the Asylum. The rear end is in pretty good shape.
I took the horse blankets and the interior is in pretty good shape. I like the "black and saddle tan" color combination.
Here's the licence plate I've picked for it. I just hope it's available when I get it registered.
This is the (as if you couldn't tell) motor. I decoded the stamping and casting codes on it and it seems to be out of a 91 Firebird. Still a Chevy 305, tho.
It doesn't look too bad for a car with 94k miles on it that's been sitting for 4 years. (Ok...I wiped the dust off before I took the pic.)
