A 67 Camaro Sport Coupe
Here's the picture of the Camaro as it appeared in the Auto trader.
My wife had wanted a 1st generation Camaro for a long time. We looked at several of them and had almost
decided that we'd never find one. Then I ran across this one in the Online Trader.
We both took off early from work to see it and here's what we found:
A VERY orange Camaro sitting kinda lopsided on a dirt driveway.
It had 15 inch rear wheels and 14 inch fronts...the "Big and Little" look of the 60s and 70s.
We opened the hood and saw what was advertised as a freshly rebuilt 327.
In reality it was a 2bbl 305 with a spray-can paint job
from a 77 Chevelle and a PowerGlide trans. (Can you say, "gutless?")
We looked inside and saw a very dirty Grant steering wheel and a totally trashed dashboard.
The seats looked pretty beat up, too. The car is somewhat strangely equipped. It has a column shift
and what appear to be factory bucket seats. But boy, are they hammered.
Well, she decided to buy it (we talked the guy down quite a bit in price)
and I guess I'm nominated to do the restification.
Whaddya know? Another project.
