Moby Grape: The 63 Nova
If you're too young to remember Moby Grape, click here.
02/06/2000. Here's a pic of the "Moby Grape" (a 63 Nova 400) as I saw it advertised.
It was owned by a young man in a town about 60 miles north of me.
This was my first view of the car.
It was a little dirty from sitting for about 6 months.
Here's the interior. Brown dash and headliner, black carpet and buckets from a Toyota
It also has a Cal Custom steering wheel, B&M shifter and a dealer-installed A/C unit.
Ohhhh...and don't forget the fuzzy dice. Those little suckers are stayin'!
A little straight 6 motor (250 CID) in in front of a TH350 trans.
Ben and I shake hands on the deal. Ben's the one on the right, the Nova is in the middle.
I think he was sad and relieved to sell it at the same time.
Now it's at home in our driveway. The drive home was a little interesting. The toe-out on the front end
limited the speed to about 40 mph. Gayle drove behind me with the flashers going in the 85 Monte.
I thought the heater core had been disconnected and cold air blew in from everywhere under the dash.
I was frozen by the time I got it home. (It IS February in Utah, yanno.)
What I realized later was that the heater core was connected but the dealer installed A/C had been removed.
